Important Event Information

• One-Day Events: The $70 fee includes all administration, green fees, cart fees and the opportunity to compete for prizes.
• Ladies Play Days: The $85 fee includes all administration, green fees, cart fees, the opportunity to compete for prizes, and a player social with food & beverage.
• Championships and Qualifiers: The fee includes all administration, green fees, cart fees and the opportunity to compete for prizes. Qualifier entry fees include a balance that is applied to the championship entry for successful qualifiers. Championship entry fees also may include food & beverage.

• One-Day Events: You may register and pay as an individual or as a group of up to four players.  You may also register as an individual and request a grouping (and only pay for yourself). When signing up online you will be asked for any grouping requests. You may request specific groupings at that time.
• Ladies Play Days: You may register and pay as an individual or as a group of up to four players. For team events, you must register with your partner. For individual events, you may register as an individual and request a grouping (and only pay for yourself). When signing up online you will be asked for any grouping requests. You may request specific groupings at that time.
• Championships and Qualifiers: For team events, you must register with your partner. No grouping requests are accepted, however, if you have a request for a certain starting time range, we will do our best to accommodate.

• One-Day Events: All One-Day Events include gross and net competition in each flight. Events are individual stroke play events using 95% of a player’s Course Handicap. Participants are competing against others in their respective flights. Players may pick up on any hole and take a max score of net double bogey.
• Ladies Play Days: All Ladies Play Days include gross and net competition in each flight. Events are individual stroke play events using 95% of a player’s Course Handicap. Participants are competing against others in their respective flight.
• Championships and Qualifiers: All championships are gross competition, with the exception of the Net Amateur Championship and the Net Division of the Women’s Four-Ball and Women’s Net Stroke Play Championship.
  • The following women’s championships are flighted by handicap index: Senior Women’s Stroke Play Championship, Senior Women’s Amateur Championship, Super Senior Women’s Stroke Play Championship, Super Senior Women’s Amateur Championship, and the Women’s State Team Matches (flighted by team Handicap Index). You should refer to the individual entry forms for specific information about flighting.

• One-Days and Ladies Play Days: There are no age requirements for these events. All members are eligible.
• Junior Events: 18 and under, except any junior who has graduated from high school may only participate until August 31st of their high school graduation year.
• Mid-Amateur: For men, ages 25 and over. For women, ages 22 and over but not competing on a college team.
• Senior: 50 and over for men and women
• Super Senior: 65 and over for men and women

• One-Day Events: 
  • The tee guidelines below apply to only those who wish to compete for prizes. A player may play a longer set of tees and be eligible for prizes. If a player decides to play a shorter set of tees, the player will not be eligible for prizes.  If you choose to play a different set of tees, you must notify the staff member on site before teeing off.
  • The VSGA tries to emphasize fun with these events. We also try to set up golf courses to help with pace of play issues.
    • Ages 49 and Under (approximately 6,200 – 6,400 yards)
    • Ages 50-64 (approx. 6,000 – 6,200 yards)
    • Ages 65-74 (approx. 5,700 – 5,900 yards)
    • Ages 75-79 (approx. 5,400 – 5,900 yards) 
    • Ages 80 and Over (most forward tee rated for men)
    • Ladies – Most forward tee
• Ladies Play Days: All Ladies Play Days are played from the most forward tee.
• Championships and Qualifiers: Tee locations are determined daily based on course condition, difficulty, and field makeup (e.g. senior and super senior events). See entry details for more information.

• One-Day Events and Ladies Play Days: Participants who wish to withdraw from these events may transfer to another event in that category in the same year, unless a refund (subject to a $10 administrative fee) is requested prior to seven days before the date of the event. If you choose the withdraw option in the ‘Online Event Signup’ site, it will process a refund less a $10 administrative fee.  At any time prior to three days before the event, you may withdraw and transfer to another event this season. You MUST contact the VSGA via email or phone call in order to be eligible for a transfer or credit. 
• Championships and Qualifiers: Participants requesting a refund for a qualifier or championship (subject to a $10 administrative fee) must request the refund prior to the event deadline.

• One-Day Events: Players will receive points based on their overall Net finish in each VSGA One-Day Event. Click here→ to see more information about the One-Day Player Rankings.
• Ladies Play Days: There is not currently a player rankings system for the Ladies Play Days.
• Championships and Qualifiers: The VSGA player rankings measure performance in national, state and regional competitions for amateur golfers who are members of the VSGA in several categories for men, women and juniors.

• All events: Players may have caddies and caddies may ride in carts only if there is an open seat. See junior championship entry forms for specific caddie information for those events.
• Golf carts are available for use at all VSGA Championships and tournaments, excluding junior events. However, the VSGA encourages players to walk if they choose to do so and players may use push/pull carts if the host facility permits them.

All events: Prizes are gift certificates redeemable in the host club golf shop.
