SUFFOLK -- The father-son duo of Jason and JJ Robertson posted a 13-under total of 59 to win the 8th VSGA Parent-Child Championship on August 7 at Cedar Point Club. The VSGA Parent-Child Championship is a net competition split into age divisions based on the younger player on the side. The Robertsons (Blacksburg CC) won the overall title, finishing the day with nine birdies, two eagles, and no bogeys.
Salisbury Country Club's Thomas and Tee Garner also posted a 13-under round of 59. The tie was broken using the USGA scorecard method, and the Robertsons were 8-under on the back nine, while the Garners were 6-under.
Winners of all flights:
- 12 and under flight: Peyton Song/Patrick Song (61, -11), wins flight since the Robertsons won the overall title.
- 13-15 flight: Sam Maust/Nathan Maust (62, -10)
- 16-29 flight: Tee Garner/Thomas Garner (59, -13)
- 30 and over flight: Brock Kelley/Tim Kelley (60, -12)
