Quotable:
- "Obviously golf is more fun when you play well, but I think, we just always had a great connection, obviously, being twins. I think we just understand each other really well, and so it really just kind of brings out the best in both of our games to play four-ball." -- Sarah Spicer
- "As soon as I see her make a putt, it's like it's almost easier for me to make putts. I feel more comfortable. So overall, it was just a lot of fun. I think especially now that we don't live close together, anytime we get to play together, it's just so much fun and I just look forward to four ball stuff so much when we get the opportunity to play together." -- Jessica Spicer
- "Watching my partner make 12 birdies over two days was pretty fun. Made my job really easy." -- Jessica Spicer
Day 1: Spicer sisters, Gardner/Cabriele hold first-round leads

Springfield Golf and Country Club's Simone Beltz and Christina Bartlett, The Piedmont Club's Maria Kenny and Renee Wood, and the duo of LPGA Amateur GA - DC Metro's Susan Lantz and Laurel Hill Golf Club's Penny Duncan all finished the day 3-under. Quotable:
- "We were the epitome of ham and egg, I mean, literally. I think if you look at the scorecard, it was like nine or 10 holes I did, nine or 10 holes Joan did. Most of the time we were both in the hole with a few exceptions." -- Cabriele
- "I played a practice round with local Kristen Shifflett, so we had a really good round yesterday. We both played here before, but it had been several years ago, so I got some really good tips and reminders from Kristen and Bev yesterday. I think it paid off." -- Gardner
- "I played with the best, [Joan] was such a great partner, she was really so knowledgeable on the course — she really helped me a lot." -- Cabriele
- "We have no expectations for our team tomorrow. We're just going to go out and have fun, and of course, see what happens." -- Cabriele
