Say what you want about Peter Jacobi, but the man certainly has a sense of humor, and he doesn't take himself too seriously. In a way, that free-and-easy nature translates to his golf game, something that was on full display in 2017 in his two appearances in VSGA championships. At the VSGA Super Senior Stroke Play Championship in June, Jacobi finished two strokes clear of the field to win his second championship.

In the super senior ranks, it's not unusual for players to win multiple titles. It is uncommon, though, for players to go six years between titles. Jacobi's first win came in 2011. His second came this past June at Stonehenge. At 74 1/2 years old, he was competing against a much younger field, and he joked two months later during the Super Senior Four-Ball Championship that there needed to be a division for 74 year olds because he was too old to keep up with how far the "kids" hit the ball these days.

Length is an advantage, yes. But so is experience and savvy. And Jacobi showed plenty of both when he won the Super Senior Stroke Play title, a big reason why he was named Super Senior Golfer of the Year.
