WILLIAMSBURG—Six winners were crowned at a rain-shorted 15th Virginia State Golf Association Youth Championship, held this past weekend at Kingsmill Resort’s Plantation Course.
Due to rain and lightning in the area on Sunday afternoon, the second round in the 18-hole divisions was cut to nine holes. Players in the 9-under divisions were scheduled to play two rounds of nine holes. The girls completed their full 18, but the boys were only able to compete five holes on Sunday before the weather hit.
In the boys 12-13 flight, Will Carlin posted a two-day, 2-under 106 to finish one stroke clear of Thomas Aman. Charles Lange and Jack Skinner tied for third at even-par 108.
Ryan Hooker posted a one-shot victory in the boys 10-11 division, posting a two-day, 3-under 105. He was tied with Philip Verghese going into the second round but shot 35 on Sunday to finish a stroke clear.
Macie Rasmussen shot a 1-under 107 to win the 12-13 girls flight by four shots. Jordin Christine de Graaf was the winner in the 10-11 girls flight with a 3-over 111, one shot better than Kaylee Bell.
