The Virginia State Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that serves the needs of individual golfers and member clubs across Virginia. We have several affiliated entities that rely on charitable support: Youth on Course, the Fleming Fund, the VSGA-VIP Scholarship Foundation, and the Virginia Golf Hall of Fame. Learn more about each one below and ways you can make a contribution, including the VSGA Impact Program that supports all four.
The VSGA partners with Youth on Course, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides youth with access to life-changing opportunities through golf. Juniors ages 6-18 are eligible to join Youth on Course, which comes with access to nearly 2,000 participating courses across the U.S. and Canada where you can play a round of golf for just $5 or less.
The Fleming Fund is dedicated to promoting and growing junior girls golf. Our primary goal is to make golf more accessible for young girls who have a passion for the sport but may face financial barriers. The VSGA works with First Tee chapters across Virginia to offer grants to cover the costs for junior girls ages 12-18 to attend a golf camp. Additionally, the Fleming Fund also provides assistance for junior girls to compete in events and championships.
Founded in 1984, the foundation’s purpose is to provide college assistance to students from Virginia with an interest in golf. The VSGA-VIP Scholarship Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. A portion of the proceeds from VSGA VIP Card sales goes towards funding scholarships.
The VSGA-VIP Scholarship Foundation has seven dedicated scholarship awards, with amounts ranging from $7,500 to $10,000. Additionally, at least one scholarship will be awarded to a high school student who is a military dependent.
The Virginia Golf Hall of Fame recognizes those who have given so much to the game of golf in Virginia, both on the course and off. A vision of former Virginia State Golf Association President Gib Palmer, the Virginia Golf Hall of Fame became a reality in June 2015 with the mission of recognizing excellence and honoring heritage.
