For a club to be authorized, it must comply with several items to help ensure they are properly following the Rules of Handicapping. Clubs that have not completed the authorization requirements will not be permitted to use the Rules of Handicapping and the Handicap Index® of its members will be set to NH (No Handicap).

The VSGA provides course rating services, including tee-to-green measurements, to its member clubs at no charge. Additional on-course services offered include sprinkler head measurement, course marking guidance, and the purchase of VSGA brass yardage marker plates.
