Transportation
The Rules of Golf stipulate that players must not ride on any form of transportation during a stipulated round unless authorized by the Committee (currently, participants in all VSGA Championships and co-sanctioned events, except for Junior Championships, are permitted to use carts). The optional condition prescribed in Appendix I of the Rules of Golf will be in effect. Anyone (player or caddie) seeking a golf cart due to a disability as defined under the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) should obtain information on procedures for submitting such requests, or contact the VSGA at (804) 378-2300. All such requests and required information must be submitted to the VSGA simultaneously and together with the entry application by mail and received by the VSGA no later than thirty (30) days prior to the start of the Tournament or by the entry deadline, whichever is earlier. Facsimile, phone, or online submissions will not be accepted. Requests due to temporary injuries or impairments that do not qualify as a permanent disability under the ADA will not be granted. In the event of a change in medical condition subsequent to submission of entry application, written submission of all documentation must be received by VSGA no later than 7 days before event. Many VSGA member clubs have rules regarding the minimum age for drivers of golf carts, and the VSGA will respect those rules for tournaments. If a player desiring to ride in a cart for any reason is below that age, he/she must provide his/her own driver, if necessary.
