Constructed based on the “County Courses” in Ireland, the Front Royal Golf Club and Recreational Center was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps under President Franklin D. Roosevelt on land donated by Mr. William E. Carson in honor of his late son, Will. It was designed by Mr. Carson, and, to this day largely reflects Mr. Carson’s original design.
