About the Club

Great Oaks Country Club is a challenging 18-hole golf course for golfers of every skill level. Located just minutes off the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway, Great Oaks has terrific views. Players all around enjoy the pure raw beauty and country setting. Great Oaks’ experienced staff strives on providing members and guests a comfortable, down to earth setting when they walk in the clubhouse. Our maintenance crew takes pride on giving players an immaculate golf course every time they tee it up. The club was Established in 1966 with the building of the pool and the construction of the front nine. Gene Hamm designed this wonderful layout with the front nine opening in 1968, and the back nine opening in 1993. The front nine is mostly wide open, but has length to it. The 7th hole is a 423-yard dogleg left and ranked one of the toughest holes in SWVA. The back nine is shorter but requires accuracy off the tee and a good putting stroke on large, rolling greens.
