Rosenstocks win 4th VSGA Parent-Child Championship

ZION CROSSROADS -- The father-son duo of Jack and John Rosenstock posted a 12-under-par 60 on Wednesday at Spring Creek Golf Club to win the overall title in the 4th Virginia State Golf Association Parent-Child Championship.

The Rosenstocks finished two shots clear of Darrell and George Clark, and John and Nicholas Owen, both of whom posted rounds of 10-under 62.

The Rosenstocks kept a clean scorecard in Wednesday's round, finishing with 12 birdies and no bogeys. Starting on the 4th hole, they birdied their first three holes and later went on a run of four straight birdies from holes 10-13. They closed their round with consecutive birdies.

Winners were crowned in several age groups, which were determined by the younger player in the two-person team.

9 and under: JJ Robertson and Jason Robertson (5-under 67)

10-13: Liam Foster/Thomas Foster (9-under 63)

14-18: John Owen/Nicholas Owen (10-under 62)

19-29: Darrell Clark/George Clark (10-under 62)

30 and over: Jim Serrao/Steve Serrao (9-under 63)

In all, 94 two-person teams competed in the event, which featured shotgun starts in both the morning and afternoon.
