VSGA members,
We hope you are doing well and continue to stay safe.
Earlier this week, Governor Northam announced a tentative plan to re-open Virginia using a phased approach, beginning on May 15th. In addition, WE ARE GOLF (a collaborative group of the USGA, PGA of America, PGA Tour, NGCOA, GCSAA, CMAA and LPGA Tour) released a “Back2Golf Operations Playbook” earlier today, which has been reviewed by the CDC and uses corresponding phases for safely resuming golf operations. Full details of this release can be found at We Are Golf’s website.
Using this new information and guidance from government officials, the Virginia State Golf Association will be reviewing all events currently scheduled in June and July and will release additional schedule changes on or around May 22. Undoubtedly, this will include additional postponements/cancelations of events and alterations of championship formats and qualifying schedules.
If you are registered for an event in June, please wait for additional communication from a VSGA staff member, which will be sent on the same day as our next update.
The safety of our members, volunteers, staff and host club staff is of the utmost importance to us and we appreciate your patience during this unprecedented time.
Thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing you at our events as soon as it is safely possible!
