Winners crowned at 3rd VSGA JGC Nine-hole Championship

Winners were crowned in eight age groups at the 3rd Virginia State Golf Association Junior Golf Circuit Nine-Hole Championship this past Saturday at Hermitage Country Club in Manakin-Sabot.

The winners are listed below. Players are members of the Junior Golf Circuit unless otherwise indicated:

  • Boys 14-18: Blackstone’s Jacob Wells Carr shot a 2-over 38, tied for the best score of the day, to win by five strokes.
  • Boys 12-13: Midlothian’s Joseph Weinstein returned a 4-over 40 to win by one stroke.
  • Boys 10-11: Washington, D.C.’s Xander Sehgal made two birdies and shot 44 to win by one stroke.
  • Boys 8-9: Yorktown’s Brandon Sipe tied for the low round of the day with 38 to win by two shots.
  • Boys 6-7: Richmond’s Jaxon Johnson and Woodbridge’s Aidan Wynne tied for the title after each returned 59.
  • Girls 13-14: Suffolk’s Rebecca Hutchings (Nansemond River GC) shot 41 to win by one stroke.
  • Girls 11-12: Virginia Beach’s Amber Mackiewicz posted the best girls’ round of the day, a 4-over 40 to win by two shots.
  • Girls 10-under: Amherst’s Caitlyn Baxter (Winton CC) posted a 47 to win by two shots.
