MIDLOTHIAN, Va. –– The Virginia State Golf Association is pleased to announce that it has signed an agreement to purchase a lot in the Salisbury community in Midlothian, Va., not far from its current office. The lot is on Dovercourt Drive, near the intersection of Salisbury Road and Winterfield Road. Once all the appropriate filings and contractual requirements are complete, construction will begin on the new building, which will become the home of the VSGA.

The VSGA offices have been located at Independence Golf Club since it opened in 2001.

“Independence has been a great home for the VSGA for many years, but with the growth of our organization, we felt it was time to look for additional space that would support our staff and everything that is required to conduct our business,” said Gib Palmer, president of the VSGA.  “As a result, the Board of Directors approved a review of available options for future locations including leasing space, purchasing an existing building, or building to suit.

“After a thorough review of all three options, we decided that building a new headquarters represented the best long-term solution for the VSGA. The lot in Salisbury met all of our requirements for the new location and we are very pleased to be building there.  We are looking forward to becoming part of the Salisbury community and are excited about this new chapter in the history of the VSGA.”
