NEWPORT NEWS -- Kaylee Bell (+7) and Tyler Fink (E) took home the respective Girls' and Boys' titles at the 12th VSGA Junior Golf Circuit Championship at Kiln Creek Golf Club and Resort on Sunday.
Bell's performance on Sunday (3-over 74) was the lowest score posted through two rounds of play in the Girls' Division. She recorded three birdies in a row on holes 4-6 on Sunday, which allowed her to pull away from Kate Perryman, who was tied with Bell at 3-over 77 after the first round. Bell also won the 11th VSGA Junior Golf Circuit Championship at Kiln Creek.
In the Boys' Division, Fink was able to prevail after gaining a two-shot lead after the first round on Saturday, despite a few players in the field providing pressure on Sunday. His 2-under 70 on Sunday paid dividends, especially after Fink recorded bogeys on the 16th and 18th holes on Saturday. The wind started to affect the last few groups as they finished up at Kiln Creek.
In the Youth Divisions, Kenan LeCrom finished in 1st place in the Boys' Division with a 7-over 155 and Reina Tran won the Girls' Division with a score of 26-over 170.
